An unidentified invertebrate for 2008

Can anyone identify this miniature rainforest critter?
It is about 2 mm long (cerci excluded). I photographed it on the distinctive new foliage of a juvenile mahogany (Dysoxylum sp.).
The onslaught arrival of the wet season rains have since abated leaving the waters magnificently clear. Much of the more elusive insect life is lower in the forest, foraging for floral material and ovipositing. A truly spectacular time of the year!

This bizarre looking creature looks like the nymph of
some sort of Fulgoroidea (leaf or tree hopper). They are sap sucking
