Daintree tours – The Valley of the Rainforest Dinosaurs
Daintree forest background Daintree forest background

A very determined minority of travellers overcome all obstacles and diversions to access genuine old-growth rainforest. They are invariably humbled by the timelessness and awesome beauty at the heart of ancient fan palm galleries that have survived the ravages wrought by time.

Our Daintree tours are described as the Valley of Rainforest Dinosaurs, Cooper Creek Wilderness lies at the centre of refugial significance, under the protection of Thornton Peak. Occupying the most biologically diverse part of Australia’s Wet Tropics World Heritage estate, it is considered to be the closest living counterpart to the ancient rainforests of Gondwana.

Treks are on the forest floor, unspoiled by artificial structures. Inhabitant guides traverse discrete trails
through an ancient landscape that is part of the complex rainforest environment. Access may be unsuitable for persons with limited mobility; wildlife behaviour and fauna sightings are unpredictable. Participants need to accept the risks and uncertainties associated with a genuine wilderness experience.
